Overview
StayAssist is a browser extension developed by Varscale, LLC. This privacy policy explains how StayAssist handles user data.
Data Collection
StayAssist does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The extension operates entirely within your browser.
Data Storage
StayAssist stores the following data locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:
- Listing tags (Interested, Maybe, Not Interested)
- Personal notes attached to listings
- UI preferences (such as the hide-not-interested toggle)
- Donation banner dismissal state
This data never leaves your device. It is never sent to Varscale, LLC or any third party.
Permissions
StayAssist requests the following browser permissions:
- storage — to save your tags, notes, and preferences locally across browser sessions
- activeTab — to communicate between the extension popup and the active Airbnb tab
- host permission for airbnb.com — to inject the tagging interface on Airbnb search pages only
Third Party Services
StayAssist does not integrate with any third party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
When you click the Satellite View or Street View buttons, Google Maps opens in a new tab. That navigation is subject to Google’s own privacy policy.
The optional donation button links to Ko-fi (ko-fi.com/semirxbih). Visiting that link is subject to Ko-fi’s own privacy policy.
Data Sharing
StayAssist does not sell, rent, or share any user data with any third party under any circumstances.
Data Deletion
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clicking “Clear all tags” in the extension popup, or by removing the extension from your browser entirely.
Children’s Privacy
StayAssist does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
